What EveryDrive is
Road charges like the ULEZ, the Congestion Charge, Clean Air Zones, the Oxford Zero Emission Zone and camera-tolled crossings such as the Dartford Crossing have no barrier and no ticket. You drive through, and then have to remember to pay online before a short deadline — often midnight the next day, or within three or six days — and miss it, and a penalty arrives in the post.
The app uses your phone’s location to spot those moments, tells you whether your vehicle is likely to be charged, and reminds you before the payment window closes. It’s in a free beta on iPhone, installed through Apple’s TestFlight; Android users can sign up to hear when it’s ready.
The website is free to use without the app: guides to paying late and challenging a penalty, a page for every scheme with an address and vehicle checker, and a table of every UK road charge with its deadline and official payment link.
What the app does and doesn’t do
- It detects and reminds. An alert when you enter a zone or use a crossing, and a reminder before the deadline.
- It never takes payment. You always pay the official operator yourself — TfL, GOV.UK, the council or the crossing operator. We don’t pay charges on your behalf.
- It isn’t official. EveryDrive is not affiliated with or endorsed by TfL, National Highways, the DVLA, any council or any toll operator.
- It’s a reminder, not a guarantee. Detection depends on your phone’s location, so you’re still responsible for paying any charge you owe.
How our guides are researched
Every guide and scheme page is written from the official sources: Transport for London, GOV.UK, the council that runs each Clean Air Zone, and the crossing operators. Where a page quotes a charge, a deadline or a penalty, it’s the figure the scheme publishes, and we link to the official page so you can check it.
- Each guide shows the date it was last updated.
- The charges, deadlines and payment links on the scheme pages come from the same data the app uses to decide who’s charged, and show when they last changed.
- Guides are general information, not legal advice. Rules change, so always confirm on the official scheme website before you pay.
