Terms of Service

Last updated 22 September 2026

These terms govern your use of EveryDrive, operated by Thomas Skeates, trading as EveryDrive (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the website or mobile app, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service. Questions: software.tmsevents@gmail.com.

What EveryDrive is — and isn’t

EveryDrive is an independent information and reminder service for UK road charging schemes. Coverage is limited to the schemes named as supported in the app at the time — currently Clean Air Zones, ULEZ, the London Congestion Charge, and a set of named toll crossings (Mersey Gateway, Tyne Tunnel, Dartford Crossing, Blackwall Tunnel and Silvertown Tunnel). Don’t assume every charging scheme, road, bridge or tunnel is covered — check the app for what’s currently supported before relying on it for a journey.

It is not an official service of, or endorsed by, Transport for London, National Highways, any local council, toll operator, or the DVLA, and we can’t guarantee it’s always perfectly accurate or up to date.

Your account

You must provide accurate information when signing up and keep your password secure — you’re responsible for activity under your account. One account per person; fleet accounts may cover multiple drivers under one billing owner, per the plan you choose.

Subscriptions and billing

New accounts get a free trial; after it ends, continued access requires a paid subscription, billed through Stripe on the cycle (monthly or yearly) and tier (individual or fleet) you select. You can cancel anytime from your account settings — your access continues until the end of the period you’ve already paid for, and we don’t provide partial refunds for unused time except where required by law.

Acceptable use

Don’t misuse the service — that includes trying to circumvent rate limits or security controls, scraping or reselling our zone data, submitting false vehicle information, or using EveryDrive for any unlawful purpose. We may suspend or terminate accounts that do.

Detection, routes and notifications

We provide detection and notifications with reasonable care and skill, but location tracking, boundary detection, route checks and notifications have real technical limits and can’t be guaranteed to catch every chargeable journey or crossing. Automatic detection requires background location access, which you grant and can revoke at any time (see our Privacy Policy).

Detection or a notification may be missing, inaccurate or delayed because of GPS accuracy, gaps between location updates, background restrictions, battery settings, disabled permissions, connectivity, device availability, service interruptions, or changes to scheme data. A toll crossing is a brief transit, not an area you dwell in — we require more than one matching location reading in a short window before recording a crossing, which reduces false positives but means a very fast or borderline crossing can be missed.

An absent alert, a missing trip record, or a route check showing no detected charge is not confirmation that no charge is payable. Your planned route may also differ from the journey you actually took.

Checking and paying charges

You’re responsible for checking the applicable scheme’s official requirements — vehicle eligibility, exemptions, discounts, charge amounts and payment deadlines — and for paying the relevant authority or operator directly. An EveryDrive subscription does not include the road charges or tolls themselves. We don’t pay charges on your behalf, register you for an operator’s automatic payment scheme, or submit appeals for you.

Amounts and deadlines shown in the app are informational estimates unless we say otherwise. Marking a charge as paid in EveryDrive is a personal record for your own tracking — it does not confirm that the authority or operator has actually received your payment.

Intellectual property

EveryDrive’s branding, design, and software are ours. Zone boundary and charge data originates from the relevant public authorities; we don’t claim ownership of it.

Our responsibility if something goes wrong

You remain responsible for ordinary charges and tolls that would have been payable for your journey even if EveryDrive had operated perfectly.

We’re responsible for foreseeable loss or damage caused by our breach of these terms or our failure to provide the service with reasonable care and skill. We don’t automatically reimburse a penalty merely because a crossing or alert was missed — equally, we don’t exclude responsibility for additional charges or penalties where we’re legally responsible for causing them (for example, if we show you a clearly incorrect payment deadline and you rely on it).

We’re not liable for losses we didn’t cause or contribute to, or for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits your statutory consumer rights, or our liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that can’t lawfully be excluded or restricted.

Termination

You can stop using EveryDrive and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or discontinue the service with reasonable notice.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally; we’ll update the date at the top of this page when we do. Continuing to use EveryDrive after a change means you accept the update.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
